Summer Activities
CANOE TRIPS
With over 17 miles of shoreline on loon lake there are plenty of beautiful sights to see on the boundless lake. It is a canoe enthusiast's heaven.
CAMPING
There are 61 seasonal camp sites, so if you don't bring friends you are sure to meet some. Loon Lake Resort is a family friendly resort and allows leashed dogs.
FISHING
Loon Lake is known for its fishing. If there isn't luck to be found on Loon, there are hundreds of spots near and around in Lakes Country.
WILDLIFE
If you are lucky you will be able to spot a family of deer out on a walk around the resort. There are also several nesting spots for loons on and around the lake. While the wildlife is very neat we encourage any appreciation from a distance.
BIKING
Bikers! There are plenty of places to go on a nature ride at and around Loon Lake Resort.
SHOPPING
While in Lakes Country don't forget to shop. There are plenty of cool Mom & Pop shops in the area whether you go right into Vergas, over to Detroit Lakes, or even Ottertail. There are plenty of options to shop until you drop.
Winter Activities
SKIING
For the downhill skier, Detroit Mountain is only about 20 minutes away. If you are into cross country skiing there are plenty of trails and options throughout Lakes Country..
ICE FISHING
Some of the best ice fishing in the country lies right here in Lakes Country. If you're here to fish or spear this is the place for you.
SNOWMOBILING
